Anastasiya Yerkovych

Year and place of birth:
1980, Krivoy Rog, Ukraine
Artistic background:

I have been drawing as long as I can remember myself. Flowers, animals, and fairies were the subjects of my early art. I like to learn new techniques both by exprimenting and from others. One of my favorite techniques is ”doodling”.
One of my most amazing learning experiences was teaching art to children. Their fresh, unorthodox ways of expressing their perceptions showed me a completely new way for development.
Later I had a few practical experiences: studying in the icon drawing school and attending some private "still life" classes. I have exhibited my works in the icon drawing school in Krivoy Rog and in the Artists' House in Kiev.

So how did you end up in Denmark?

I came to Denmark in 2006 for an exchange semester in Copenhagen Business School. Then I got married and stayed.

Joining the art group:

I joined the art group, because I want to do art projects together with other inspired artists and find better means to demonstrate them to other people.
Having experience in project management, so far I have been coordinating organizational activities of the group. I would like to continue that, and also get more involved into art projects.

Artistic motto:

Art to me is the way to understand the world inside and outside myself and to communicate my vision to other people.
