I have graduated from an art school during my upper-secondary studies many years ago. I have also participated in an art studio's activities for couple of years after that while studying at university in Russia. For the last seven to eight years I had nothing to do with art whatsoever, that is why I at some point decided to join this group.

So how did you end up in Denmark?

I came to Denmark roughly 6 years ago. It happened quite unexpectedly for me, as at some of my life in Russia I realized that I got myself into a dead end. The only way out I saw then was to travel far away and experience a culture different from my own.
Initially I was thinking of going to Finland or Norway, but when I heard about an educational programme that made it possible to come to Denmark, I took the opportunity and so far I am very happy about it.

Joining the art group:

I learned about this network through a friend of mine, who was one of the initiators of the group. At first I came to meetings just to meet new and interesting people and was not really thinking of painting myself. I guess the fact, that I had not held a pencil or a brush in my hand for so long made me doubt my potential, but after helping out with the first exhibition I felt that I would also like to try myself in creating art.

Artistic motto:

Art is a way to unleash and embody all the feeling, impressions and thoughts, that are hard to express in daily life.
